ESB’s Civil-Military Coordination Section (CMCS) participated in the Civil-Military Workshop on Humanitarian Response from 25 to 26 August 2017 in Providence, Rhode Island, United States. The workshop was organized by the US Naval War College Humanitarian Response Programme in partnership with Brown University and OCHA. The activity was the second iteration of a similar workshop that took place in October last year. This year’s workshop increased to 110 participants from the military, NGOs, academe, scientific institutions, aid agencies and the UN. They were grouped into eight breakout groups that identified topics and themes for research on improving civil-military humanitarian response.
