The second inter-agency ProCap training for 2017 was held in Nairobi, Kenya from 7-12 May with 23 participants from OCHA, UNHCR, OHCHR, UNICEF, WFP, SDC, DRC, NORCAP, Irish Aid, Canadem and  RedR. The training aims to enhance the protection capacity of UN and stand-by partner staff by covering protection theory and its application,  to build core competencies to understand protection and the dynamics of displacement. The ProCap training is becoming increasingly popular amongst both protection and non-protection mandated agencies and organisations. Nairobi participants included both those with protection background as well as those with more general humanitarian experience.  The training evaluation indicated that the the ProCap training was relevant to the range of participants, providing a space to share experiences, knowledge, tools and skills with the overall aim of making protection central in humanitarian action.
