A new course has been developed within the International Search and Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) to focus on the key aspects of USAR coordination and to reinforce personal knowledge on relevant reference documents including the INSARAG, UNDAC and OSOCC methodologies.

This course is designed to train selected USAR team managers from INSARAG classified USAR teams in coordination methodologies. This will include the ability to establish and manage a Reception-Departure Centre (RDC), a provisional On Site Operations and Coordination Centre (OSOCC), a USAR Coordination Cell (UCC) or a Sector Coordination Cell (SCC).

In November, a pilot course was conducted in Singapore, and a second course will be held in France in March 2017.
