Emergency Response Preparedness training conducted in Cameroon
OCHA, UNICEF and WFP conducted an inter-agency Emergency Response Preparedness (ERP) training by from 13 to 15 June in Yaoundé, Cameroon. Some 30 country-based NGO and UN staff together with governmental actors participated in the training.
The UN Country Team and the Civil Protection Agency of Cameroon are implementing various elements of the ERP, including risk analysis and minimum and advanced preparedness actions. The main objective of the training was to introduce and operationalize the ERP approach including to increase awareness and build capacity of key stakeholders involved in humanitarian action at the national level. OCHA, WFP and UNICEF regional offices in Dakar plans to l conduct ERP training in at least five priority countries in west and central Africa by the end of the year.
The ERP approach was developed and validated by the Inter-Agency Standing Committee.
