As part of the preparatory phase of the UN-CMCoord Skills Training, which will be held in Sigriswil, Switzerland from 29 May to 4 June, OCHA’s Emergency Services Branch organized three webinars. The first one focused on the unique effort to bring together Member States and organizations to agree on common standards in Humanitarian Civil-Military Coordination (UN-CMCoord), mirroring advocacy efforts of field colleagues at a strategic level. The other two brought forward experiences of UN-CMCoord Officers who shared recent experiences from the field: working with foreign military assets in response to natural disasters in the Pacific; and supporting a humanitarian notification system for de-confliction to share information about humanitarian activities and positions with military actors engaged in air strike campaigns in Yemen from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
