Latest Rotation of OCHA’s Emergency Response Roster Trained

The Field Response Surge Training (FIRST) was organized for the third time in Norway from 6 to 13 April . The training was hosted by the Norwegian Civil Defense Forces at their training facility in Starum. The FIRST training is organized for new members of the Emergency Response Roster and aims to provide members with exposure to field work in emergency situations. The eight-day training covers a range of scenarios to expose participants to the realities of working in an emergency. Sessions included desktop exercises on Inter-Cluster Coordination, dealing with the media, as well as field-based exercises ranging from access negotiation with armed groups to providing first aid in a hostile environment. This training round hosted 22 participants from all over the world.
