OSOCC trainer course another success

On the 6 to 10 July, FCSS conducted the third On Site Operation Coordination Center trainer course in Colombia. The regional course brought 17 participants from 8 countries in the Americas region as well as staff from ECHO and OCHA. This course helped establish a pool of OSOCC training officers who will organise and conduct OSOCC training courses as part of the INSARAG and UNDAC training programme in support of OCHA and its partner organisations. The participants were not only trained on the OSOCC course material but also on adult learning methodology. The trainees explored a range of options for course implementation and developed generic course management skills to draw the best out of facilitation teams during the training delivery.

It was the 2nd time that the Government of Colombia hosted an event for OCHA in a local Red Cross society managed training center in the department of Armenia.
